MU TRAINING INSTITUTE

Theater Mu offers self-development and training opportunities designed for working and aspiring BIPOC artists (16+)! Mu Training Institute (MTI) topics can include theater courses, intensive acting workshops, and play-reading book clubs. Together, we’re shining the spotlight on BIPOC-led theater by creating a nurturing space for individuals to learn by taking risks, being open, and boldly failing without the pressure of an audience.

Below are the current MTI class offerings, but make sure to explore everything that it encapsulates, including our youth summer camp and our recent playwrights’ cohorts, the Mu Tang Clan and the Mu Emerging Playwrights’ Circle.

+ THE FOUNDATIONS OF ASIAN AMERICAN THEATER

Join professor Josephine Lee in a three-part mini course that looks at what stories are told by and about Asian Americans through the theater. The course is for anyone 16+ who is curious about Asian American theater. Each class will have a lecture and discussion with no required outside reading, but follow-up reading lists will be available.

Online on Oct 2, 9, & 16, with available space to congregate at the Mu Studio.
