JOIN THE MU STUDENT ENSEMBLE IN FALL 2025
The Mu Student Ensemble (MUSE) is a weekly high school theater program for Twin Cities metro students in grades 10-12 to develop theater skills, learn about career opportunities, and connect with the local theater community. As a member of MUSE, you will:
advance your theater skills across performance and design.
connect with professional theaters and theatermakers while learning about careers and opportunities in the theater industry.
increase your knowledge Asian American history, theater history, and literature.
gain a closer relationship with Theater Mu, the Midwest’s largest Asian American theater.
Applications will open later in the spring. All members will receive a $200 stipend, and a public transportation stipend is available upon request. Questions? Email morgen@theatermu.org.
Meetings will be every Monday from Sept 15 through Dec 15, 5-7 pm, at the Mu Studio (755 Prior Ave. N, Saint Paul). This meeting time allows for students to continue participating in extra curricular activities as desired, but the studio will also be open beforehand for anyone who would like to come directly after school.
Additional monthly outings will be arranged, connecting students to different shows, exhibits, festivals, and events across the metro area.
Mu was born out of a need for AAPI representation in American theater, and we represent the Asian American diaspora, honoring our identity as Asian Americans while also respecting our diverse backgrounds and experiences. Our past participants have specifically pointed out the joy of sharing theater with other AAPI budding artists, and for this reason, we will prioritize students who identify as Asian or Asian American for enrollment.
